WHAT IS WIRELESS BROADBAND?
Wireless broadband is high-speed delivery of Internet data without using wires or cables. It is delivered using a high-speed radio link at a frequency band set up by the Federal Communications Commission for the express purpose of creating local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs). There is no FCC license required, so the service is available immediately.
WHAT IS THE FUTURE FOR WIRELESS BROADBAND?
Wireless broadband has the potential to do to broadband Internet access what cell phones have done to phone access. In the same way that many people have given up their "land lines" in favor of cell phones, Wireless broadband could replace cable and DSL services, providing universal Internet access just about anywhere you go. Wireless broadband is also as painless as WiFi -- turning your computer on will automatically connect you to the closest available wireless broadband antenna. |
